Flexwing

The Weightshift type is derived from the very earliest years of the sport. It consists of a Delta type wing with a powered 3-wheeled pod suspended beneath the wing. To Jo Public, they look like a hang glider with a hanging trike unit.

Francis Rogallo invented the design and patented it in 1948. It was originally designed with the thought of using them as pilotable parachutes to recover space capsules from the Gemini and Apollo program.

Flexwings generally do not have an enclosed cabin, so you'll have to wear a nice warm outfit!
