Three go to Cornwall, June 2002.

With all the talk of Spamfield (an Internet organised fly-in to the Isle of Wight, that turned out to be one of the biggest events of the year), a few of us decided to have our own flyout to the West Country.

'Scrumpyfield' was the name, and Cornwall was the game. After mucho chat about endurances (both fuel and bladder orientated) we (Myself in my 462 powered Shadow CD, Roger 'Fat Charlie' in his MW6 and Jeremy in his flexwing) decided to visit Lands End. That should be a nice trip we thought...

There was the usual Westerly wind, so for the outbound leg we decided on Chilbolton -> Henstridge -> Dunkeswell -> Eaglescott -> Bodmin for Day 1. Easy, no rush and a 'nice trip' it was going to be. For Day 2 we would 'nip' down to Lands End and back, and Day 3 return home a similar route.

So, Wednesday 5th June 2002 and off we go. Our early 9am departure wasn't quite so early - it was just after 11am, but this is to be expected! A lovely 50 minutes later and we were at Henstridge for a nice cup of tea.
