There was sort of a garage, with a row of pumps outside that Noah would probably be familiar with, so all the way back past thr strip to Barton Stacey for fuel, then finally all the way back again to the strip.

It transpired later that an impromptu flyout was occurring (thanks Chris J), and Brimpton was the place to be. In the ten months since passing my GFT (for which, being based at Shoreham, I used to regularly fly solo to Popham, Headcorn or Lydd) I had flown out to <ahem> exactly no-where.

Sure, I'd pottered around the local area, Stockbridge, Andover, Newbury (actually I was trying to get to Popham, but that's another story...) etc., but I just hadn't got round to landing away.

Chris obviously sensed this (maybe my eyes' opened to dinner plate size!) and assured me that not only was it easy to get to, but that even I could manage to follow four other Microlights to a place 'just over there'.
